one is none

I love the similarities between basketball and jazz.

The players you enjoy the most are those who look to pass first rather than always take the shot.
They take their shot when that’s what helps the team.
They’re always ready and looking for the pass.
In the best situations, all the passes are “no-look” and the ball never ends up in the stands.
They set picks to help you perform better.
And…when there is a genuine TEAM concept, every play is a broken play that requires the spontaneous improvisation of all to create something none could have imagined, individually.

You can always tell an immature player. They want to take every solo and will pout at the end of the night even when the team wins.

Music is a team sport, whether cooperating with fellow musicians or with the audience….or both.
